A Royal Wedding

Wilder, my sister, Crystal, and I had the honor of joining Brian's family celebrate the union of their fabulous daughter Brooke to a wonderful young man named Joe. The couple shares a birthday, only three hours apart to the minute, and Joe proposed to Brooke on their special day in San Miguel de Allende a year ago. Wanting their family and friends to partake in this lovely city, they chose the marry there exactly a year from their engagement. On May 26th, Brooke and Joe sealed the deal in style only fitting royalty.

Barry and Brooke rode to the church in a beautiful vintage Jaguar, which, unfortunately, died seven blocks from the church. They had to make the uphill trek on the cobble stone roads, Barry holding her train, yet they were unphased and Brooke looked radiant as ever.

The handsome couple sharing a moment outside the church after the ceremony.

Off to the reception!

The church they married in -the perfect size for the intimate gathering of family and friends.

The tequila burro. On the other side of the entrance a man held a tray of miniature jugs of tequila (about 1 oz. worth.) I guess tradition has it that all who enter take a shot, then the party begins. I never figured out what the burro did, besides look adorable.

My dear sister, Crystal, kept an eye on the sleeping Wilder during the reception -amazingly enough he slept right through the incredibly loud mariachi band that played for an hour right below his room. Actually, he slept all through the party!

Mother-of-the-bride and her dear friend, Karen.

The enormously loud, fun, and slightly out of tune mariachi band. Notice that kid playing the bass? He swapped instruments and sang beautifully.

It was a superb wedding, complete with fireworks, huge sparklers, live music, delicious dinner, enormous chocolate birthday cake, and lots of dancing (mainly done by Crystal ~she may be 21 weeks pregnant, but you can't hold that mama down when she's got her dancing shoes on --which happens to be all the time. She's an instant party.)

Many, many blessings on you, Brooke and Joe, and enjoy relaxing in Jamaica! Thank you for letting us be apart of this beautiful celebration!

Betty and Barry made it possible for the three of us to make this divine trip. We sang this to them when we came over to cook them a thank you dinner. Betty requested we record and post it -now, Betty, you can see us being ever-so-thankful at the click of a button! Thank you both so VERY, VERY much!

I loved every line and picture of this blog (blogs). Brooke is a stunning bride. The house was AMAZING! The pictures you took really captured the essence of where you were.
I am glad you were able to go and Crystal was able to come with you.
